At the center of Stonington’s upper village, Fay’s Cottage offers an idyllic and thoughtfully appointed two-bedroom, smoke-free retreat for solo travelers, couples and small families. 

Make it your headquarters to explore the Maine's picturesque Downeast coast. While there are many outdoors excursions right off your doorsteps, you are also within driving distance to Bar Harbor and beautiful Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. Historic Castine is just 45 minutes away by car, while Bangor's airport, shopping and tourist attractions (like the famous Paul Bunyon statue) are just 90 minutes up the mighty Penobscot River.

Locally, you are minutes away from our quaint busy downtown, and have access to sea adventures right from our wharf (daily harbor cruises, the mailboat to Isle-Au-Haut, kayak rentals). The island boasts numerous scenic hiking trails from Sunshine and Sunset, our east and west villages. Worth mentioning is our Farmer's Market held each Friday from 10am to Noon, right outside the cottage. 

DETAILS

Fay's Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage (1queen size bed, and 2 twin size beds) comfortably accommodating a family of 4 in a smoke free environment. Upon permission, your dog (1) is also welcome if house trained.

FEATURES

Fully equipped kitchen: coffeemaker, coffee grinder, microwave oven, toaster oven, cooking basics, pots & pans, refrigerator, gas cooking range, dishes & cutlery, basic staples (oil & vinegar, salt & pepper, sugar, condiments, complementary  44 North Coffee beans).

Fully furnished bedrooms: pillows, linens, blankets, closets with hangers.

Fully equipped bathroom: towels, liquid soap, hairdryer, First Aid kit, daily shower cleaner spray and other bathroom necessities.

Indoors Amenities: Free laundry available on site (W & D), iron & ironing table. Wireless Wi-Fi provided by Fidium,  smart TV,  full-house backup generator, heat pump that serves as summertime AC, dehumidifier, or fan.

Free Parking: Off-street, in the back of the cottage.

Outdoor Amenities: Gas fire grill with BBQ utensils, patio with tables, chairs & umbrella, exterior lighting, exterior trash bin (a pass is provided for the transfer station, opened from 8:30am-4:30pm  7 days/week, except holidays). Just across the street you'll find Stonington's upper village park, with a ballfield, gazebo and playground for the young and young at heart.

For your pet: Food and water bowls (and poop bags!) are provided. No pet bed. Leash law in effect in Stonington.

Miscellaneous: Fully equipped with safety devices including smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, propane detector and fire extinguisher. A closet provides vacuum, broom & mop, and essential cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper and tissues.

HOUSE RULES

Check-in: After 4 pm. The door will be unlocked.

Check-out: No later than 10 am.

No smoking.

No parties or events.

Respect quiet hours.

Guests are asked to keep the cottage clean. On the day of departure, please wash & wipe your dishes,  dispose of your trash at the transfer station. Use the provided pass for the transfer station located on the fridge. Remember to put it back before you leave for good ! Please leave the door unlocked on your way out.
